What it is
モコム (Mocom) is a Japanese one-to-one video chat service built only for smartphones. The home page says it plainly, モコムはスマートフォン専用です, and a visitor on a desktop is told to open the site through a QR code. It is not a room-based cam site with public broadcasts. A male member finds a woman in the online list, messages her, and calls her by video or voice, and every minute is charged in prepaid points. Registration is free and comes with free points, so a first visit costs nothing. The pages are all in Japanese, and the title sums up the pitch as video calls with amateur girls from all over the country (全国の素人娘).
The site describes the women as ordinary people of many types, from all over the country, who live as office workers, models or sex-industry workers, among others, and says members use the calls however they like: to talk over love troubles or sexual questions, to call like a couple, or for adult video calls. The home page claims more than 2,000 women wait for a video call every day (毎日2,000人以上) and more than 160,000 registered women (女性登録者数16万人以上). Its fund settlement page calls Mocom 業界最大級 (among the largest in the mobile live chat industry). All three are the site's own claims.
What you get and how the calls work
The home page play guide has three steps. First, the site says women stand by 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so a member can look for one during a work break or a spare moment; it lists former flight attendants, apparel shop staff and working models among them. Second, a member sends a message to a woman he likes inviting her to a video call, and the guide suggests lines to use. Third, he taps the video call button on her profile and waits for the call to connect. The site frames the call as one where both people see each other's faces, and says a woman may grant an adult request or play.
The features list names what else the service holds, and the guide page describes each one:
- ビデオ/音声通話, video and voice calls. The guide suggests moving to a video call once a message exchange makes both sides comfortable.
- チャット, messages. For a member nervous about calling straight away, the guide suggests starting with a message, and says images and videos can be attached, including requests for self-shot pictures.
- 動画掲示板 and 画像掲示板, a video board and an image board where women post self-shot clips and photos. A member can browse rankings of popular posts or follow one woman's posts.
- 女の子の私物販売, a resale corner called モコフリ, where a woman sells clothes and underwear she wears, bought through the site. The FAQ adds that members can buy self-shot videos and worn underwear as well as call.
- ブログ, the women's blogs, which the guide says may show a more private side of them.
- Events, which the guide says include seasonal cosplay events and call discount events.
A member can follow (フォロー) a woman to keep track of her. The online list on the home page shows each woman's occupation, prefecture and age, with a 今すぐ話せる (can talk now) tag on those who are free. The occupations shown include office worker, nurse, childcare worker, civil servant, hostess, housewife, company employee, model and apparel worker, and the prefectures include Hokkaido, Tokyo, Aichi, Osaka and Shizuoka. Photos on the landing page are blurred to keep the women from being identified, and the site says there is no blur once inside.
That shape is what places Mocom in the one-on-one chat category: every paid action is a call or a message between one member and one woman, with no group room, no public stream and no tipping.
The home page lists the safety rules:
- Members' phone numbers and email addresses are kept private, and the site says no personal information is ever made public.
- The site says it watches 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for bad actors, naming users who lead people to outside services such as LINE, fraud operators, paid fake chatters (サクラ) and anyone hinting at a real-life meeting.
- A woman must register an official ID, and the site says every woman who can message and call has passed an identity check against a public ID document.
- The FAQ says Mocom is a live chat service for communicating online: use aimed at meeting, and exchanging personal information, are banned.
The footer shows the service filed as a video transmission adult business (第45087号) and a non-store telephone introduction business (第45090号), and the home page adds a non-store adult entertainment filing (第44539号).
The figures
Mocom is a prepaid point service (先払いポイント購入制), and data charges are the member's own. The price table, in points:
- 音声通話, voice call: 200pts/1分, 200 points a minute.
- ビデオ通話, video call: 250pts/1分, 250 points a minute.
- A text-only message: free to receive, 80 points to send.
- A message with an image attached: 50 points to receive, 100 points to send.
- A message with a video attached: 100 points to receive, 150 points to send.
- Viewing a profile and posting a blog entry: free.
The table states the exchange rate as 1円=0.75pts, one yen for 0.75 points. Mocom does not publish its point packages on these pages.
The FAQ is direct about the risk of a large bill. The service is fully prepaid (完全前払い制): even in the middle of a call, the line is cut when the points run out, and the site says it will never bill usage afterward. Free points are handed out after registration, and the FAQ says a member can play without paying at all.
On payment, a section headed 豊富な決済方法 says various methods are available and that the site name does not appear on the billing statement.
The fund settlement notice names the operator as 株式会社リアズ, at an address in Yodogawa ward, Osaka. It says purchased points are valid for 6 months counting the purchase day, that points can be forfeited if an account is suspended under the terms, and that they lapse when a member leaves. There is no upper limit on what a member can buy, and the balance shows at the top right of the my-page screen. The footer also links to a complaints policy, a specified commercial transactions notice, a page about points, a contact form, advertising partner recruitment and a media coverage page.
Who it suits and who it does not
This suits a Japanese-reading member who wants a private call with one woman rather than a public room. The prepaid design, with the cut-off when points run out, suits someone who wants a hard ceiling on spending. The ID check on women, the watch for scammers and fake chatters, and the privacy of phone numbers and email matter to anyone worried about who is on the other end. The message-first flow suits a member who does not want to call cold, and the boards and blogs give something to browse between calls.
It is a poor fit for several readers. There is no PC site, so a viewer who wants a desktop browser has no way in. All pages are in Japanese. Long calls add up at 200 to 250 points a minute, and messages with photos or videos carry their own charges on both ends. A viewer who wants a public show, a group room or tipping will not find that format here, and the site says outright that meeting is not allowed.
