What it is

マダムライブ (Madam Live) is a Japanese-language live chat site that describes itself as 熟女・人妻専門ライブチャット, a live chat site specializing in mature women and wives. The performers are called マダム, and the roster, search and rankings are all organized around that one niche. It is a prepaid points site: registration is free and comes with free points, and each chat mode then draws points by the minute at rates printed on every page. Everything is in Japanese. The footer reads "Since 2010", and the operator named on the fund settlement notice is 株式会社エムライブ, with a support center in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

The FAQ explains how the modes fit together. In party chat, other members see only a member's nickname and text, and peek users see only the text. Peek is anonymous: only the woman sees who is there, and other members see a head count. A member's camera, if switched on, is visible to the woman alone, and his microphone is heard by her alone. Party chat runs a main member (メイン会員) system, and only the main member can use the microphone or ask the woman to move to a 2-shot or private chat. She has to accept. The house rules are part of the product. The FAQ asks members to greet the woman on entering, not to demand undressing or adult play straight away, not to leave without a word, and not to record photos or video. Not every woman does adult chat, and the FAQ says to talk first and ask. Meeting in person and exchanging contact details are banned, and the site says it monitors chats 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The figures

A standing offer, 新妻一番乗りパーティ半額, halves party chat to 50pt/分 for the first member into a new woman's room. A premium-members-only offer cuts the party microphone charge from 50pt to 30pt every day from 13:00 to 17:00 and from 21:00 to 3:00.
