HomeLiveSex

HomeLiveSex, which calls itself HLS in its own copy, is a free live cam site built around amateurs: its welcome line says the site "features amatures fucking from home on live cam", and its page title is simply "Home Live Sex - Free Adult Cams". Women, men, couples, gay and trans performers broadcast, and viewers can watch, chat, switch on their own cam and pay for more only if they choose. The home page says "Browsing, chatting, watching sex shows and broadcasting your own live cam is completely free", and that "to complete our free signup process we don't ask you for your credit card and there are no fees to pay." The site's own summary of its pricing is "Free to watch, tips optional", and its feature table answers "Signup Required" with "Nope, watch instantly". So the cost of opening is zero, with no account needed just to look.

What the platform is and what you get

The site's pitch is amateur and casual. Its own feature page says HomeLiveSex is "raw, amateur, and totally unfiltered" and that "Most models are streaming from home (as the name suggests)". The home page speaks of "models from all around the world" and says "women, men, couples, gays and transsexuals are broadcasting live 24/7". It also claims "thousands of free live cam shows, all being only a click away", which is the site's own figure for its scale and not a count shown on the pages.

The top menu reads Home, Fav Cams, Girls, Couples, Asian, Shemale and Cam 2 Cam, with Join Free and Login, plus an age-labeled entry for 18+ performers. A strip of shortcut links on the home page adds Dominatrix Cams, Black Cams, Girl Cams, Couple Cams, Lesbian Cams and Asian Cams, so viewers who want femdom, Black performers, lesbian rooms or Asian performers each have a direct link. The footer repeats the main sections as Featured Cams, Live Girl Cams, Live Couple Cams, Live Gay Cams and Live Shemale Cams, and adds free cams by age bands from 18 to 19 up to 30 to 40.

The home page walks through the sections in plain terms. Girls is the option "To make your browsing girls-only". Couples gathers pairs broadcasting together. MILF is the section for "experienced older women". Gay is its own category for men who want male performers, and Transsexual carries trans performers. The site says each can be narrowed further "by age, region and status".

Chat Roulette is the most distinctive section. "After you enter this section, we randomly pick for you a live stream", the home page says, and "If you prefer to pick a different broadcaster, you simply click on the "Next" button (located in top right corner)". It adds that "all chat roulette participants are adults". That gives a viewer the random-pick experience of a roulette chat inside a regular cam site. The Cam 2 Cam entry in the menu covers the other direction, where the viewer's own camera is on as well.

The couples page shows how filtering works. A viewer can set an age band of 18-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49 or 50+, switch on High Definition, show only performers "New To Site", and sort by Default, Chatters, Rating, age in either direction, Just Got Online or Online Longest. Its text describes "straight couples and lesbian couples, to gay couples, threesomes and even gang bangs", so group shows and lesbian pairs are found inside the couples section. It says that performers are "adult people who enjoy having sex in front of the streaming webcam" and that "Each couple, wether it be straight, gay or lesbian, is as genuinely a couple as one can be."

In the room, the site lists its chat features: "Webcam chat is 100% free", full screen, watching "several cams at once", color and font options for chat text, custom emoticons, private messages, moderation controls and private shows. The home page puts the paid side in one line: "For an intimate experience with your preferred model, enter private chat." The couples page adds that a viewer can "go private with the chosen couple and get on an intimate level with them". The money in the system is tips and private chat; public shows are the free core, and the site's own table describes its show type as "Public, live shows". The site does not publish what a private chat costs or which currency tips are paid in.

Viewers can broadcast too. The "Start Broadcasting Yourself!" section invites members to run "your very own live cam" and to "Join thousands of real people around the globe" doing the same. The home page also carries a "$$$ Models Wanted $$$" link, so performers can sign up to earn.

Signup is short. "We only ask for your username, password, date of birth and gender", the home page says, and the details are needed "only to verify you are an adult (18 years old and above)". An email address is optional, but needed "if you would like to receive friend notifications, start broadcasting your own live cam, verification and pay out reminders", which shows that the site has a friends system and that broadcasters are paid. The couples page says "We are safe and don't even require your email when you join our members' area."

The site runs a sex cam blog, and the home page says "We also have friendly sites we collaborate with to bring you even more live sex cams". Its own table answers "Mobile Friendly?" with "Yes".

The figures

• Cost to watch: free, and "Signup Required" is answered "Nope, watch instantly".
• Cost to join: free; the home page says "we don't ask you for your credit card and there are no fees to pay."
• Pricing in the site's words: "Free to watch, tips optional".
• Signup fields: username, password, date of birth and gender; email optional.
• Scale, as the site's claim: "thousands of free live cam shows".
• Couples age filter: 18-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49 and 50+.
• Footer: "HomeLiveSex is for Adults Only!" and an 18 U.S.C. 2257 record-keeping statement.

Who it suits

HomeLiveSex suits a viewer who wants free amateur cams without handing over a card or even an email. The chat roulette is a real draw for someone who likes to be handed a random room, and the couples filters, with age bands, an HD switch and sorting by how long a room has been online, help someone who knows what kind of room they want. A viewer who wants to broadcast as well as watch can do both from one free account.

It suits less well a viewer who wants to price a private show before going in, because the site does not publish rates. Someone after polished studio productions will find the site's own pitch is the opposite: home broadcasters and a casual tone.
