What NuRoulette is
NuRoulette is a random adult video chat site. Its page title calls it "Free Adult Chat," and the opening block shows a start button, a Next button and a Stop button under the heading "Random Sex Video Chat." There is no model directory and no room list. A visitor is connected with "a random person on the other side of the screen in mere seconds," and taps a next arrow to move on. The homepage says its video chat feature "is completely free," while its user agreement says communication runs "on a payment basis" after a free trial version. The agreement sets up two kinds of account, a female "Girl" account and a male "Man" account, and the women are the ones paid out of what male users spend. The site is aimed at a visitor who wants a quick adult chat with strangers, starts free, and pays in minutes if they stay.
What you get and how it works
The homepage describes the product in loose terms. "All you need to start NuRoulette and hundreds of new acquaintances will be available to chat in a single click." It says "You will never know who our algorithm hooks you up with next time. Maybe it is a girl next door or maybe it is someone who lives thousands of miles away." It claims "Thousands of people from the NuRoulette community" are waiting to talk, which is the site's own marketing wording, and it says its algorithm connects visitors "only with the most interesting people." Among its selling points it lists "Ultra-Fast" connections and "A lot of girls."
The mechanics are short. Press Start, get a random partner. "When a previous chat is over, tap the next arrow to instantly hook up with a new chat partner." The homepage lists the use cases it has in mind: making friends, online dating, small talk, "show off your guitar playing, singing, or juggling skills." Those are the site's examples, written for a general audience, even though the page title and heading are sexual.
The user agreement gives the better picture of the product. It calls NuRoulette "a platform for communication between the Users," with communication carried out "by correspondence, exchange of audio and video messages." Registration creates a personal account of one of two types, Girl or Man, and a user may register only one account matching their biological gender. That account split is the basis for the girls-only framing: the paid side of the agreement is built around male users spending and female users being paid. When a user signs up, the system automatically takes a photo and uses it as the profile avatar, which the user can change later; using someone else's photo is prohibited. Girls must also provide passport details. Users must be over 18 and of the age of majority in their country.
The agreement says users can rate the content they view and stop communicating with any user at any time. It warns that visitors "may come across visual, textual and other sexual information," and describes a "safe search" function: with it switched on, a visitor is kept out of nudity sessions, and by switching it off they confirm they are ready to see adult content.
On moderation the agreement says two things that pull in different directions. One clause reads: "Please note that we do not monitor any chat conversations between our Users," and warns that some users may behave abusively, including exposing themselves on camera. Elsewhere it describes automatic monitoring of user behavior, recording of communication to check compliance (including screenshots of broadcasts), automatic identification of people in broadcasts, moderators who may join a chat and ask a user to repeat a gesture to catch rebroadcast video, and "mystery shoppers" who join sessions to check the ban on contact with minors. Violations can bring a temporary or permanent ban. The agreement also says the company does not pre-check all content and cannot guarantee that offensive content is absent. Problems and abusive users can be reported, and a well-grounded complaint may earn bonus internal currency.
The technical advice is specific: the agreement asks users to keep their operating system updated, use Google Chrome, avoid a VPN and keep a fast enough connection, and says poor broadcast quality can lead to an account being suspended until it is fixed.
The figures on the pages
The money side lives in the agreement. It says "Communication in the Application is carried out on a payment basis," and that the price of the internal currency and of communication "are to be set by the Application algorithms." There are "two types of internal currency provided by the system: minutes and points." "Minutes can be purchased for money in the Application." While a user views paid content, minutes are converted into points, "which the recipient (Girl) have the right to exchange into the money," at a rate that "depends on the current tariff" shown in the Girl's account. Gifts can be bought with internal currency, and a gift "like internal currency, can be converted into the money." The company takes a commission, and it says exchange rates between money, minutes and points can change without users' approval. Internal currency and gifts are not money, and users may not transfer them to each other.
The free start is real but limited to a trial: "New Users are provided with the opportunity to get acquainted with the functions of the Applications in the free (trial) version," with the same functionality as the main version. After that, the agreement says, "you have the right to purchase internal currency in order to continue communication in the Application." Active users may get free minutes and discounts under bonus programs. For some countries, VAT is added to the package price and shown on the payment page. Payment terms and refund conditions can be changed without warning; if a change is significant, a user may stop using the service and is paid the amount left in the account. The site does not publish what a minute costs. Only natural persons can register, not companies.
Who it suits and who it does not
NuRoulette suits a visitor who wants a roulette-style adult chat, a free trial before any purchase and the option to filter nudity out with safe search. The Next button makes it easy to leave any chat, and the terms say you can stop communicating with a user whenever you want. A viewer who wants to support the women they talk to will find a stated mechanism, since minutes spent on paid content become points the Girl account can cash out.
The caveats are real. The agreement both says the company does not monitor chat conversations and describes recording, automatic monitoring and moderators joining sessions, so a visitor should not expect a clean moderation promise either way. Prices are set by an algorithm and can change, and no rate is printed before a purchase. And the homepage pitches a general audience while the agreement describes a paid adult service, so the experience depends heavily on the safe search setting and on who the matcher picks.
